Timex Marlin Men's Watch TW2W10000

Presenting the Timex Marlin Men's Watch TW2W10000, a round 40 mm stainless steel case with mirror-polished flanks, faceted lugs and a narrow bezel that lets the domed acrylic crystal sit proud of the dial. The face is a warm brown, close to sand, with a sunray brushing that shifts to gold under direct light. Applied gold-tone batons mark the hours, while three dark rectangular blocks at 12, 3 and 9 carry cream numerals that echo the printed minute track. Three recessed counters are arranged at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock, a tachymetre scale runs around the outer flange, and a framed date aperture opens between 4 and 5. The gold-tone fluted crown is flanked by two matching pushers, and the strap is a perforated rally-style band in PU leather with contrast stitching and a buckle.

Inside runs a quartz movement, chosen for its accuracy and its ability to keep the case slim at just 13 mm thick. Hours, minutes and central seconds are read against the applied indices, the date sits in its own framed window, and the tachymetre track printed on the flange lets you read average speed over a measured distance. The case is water resistant to 5 ATM, enough for washing hands and rain, and the acrylic crystal is the same material Timex used on the original Marlin, warm in tone and easy to polish if it ever picks up a mark.

The Marlin is Timex's link to its own past. Timex traces its origins to the Waterbury Clock Company, founded in Connecticut in 1854, and the Marlin was the dress watch that American men wore through the 1960s, a slim round case with clean lines and honest finishing. Reissued in recent years, the line keeps that mid-century proportion and adds contemporary dial layouts like this three-counter, gold-accented brown version.
