Presenting the Timex Marlin Men's Watch TW2Y66500, built around a round stainless steel case of 40 mm in diameter and 13 mm thick, polished across the flanks and bezel, with short lugs that drop straight into the bracelet. A slim steel bezel frames a black tachymeter flange printed in white, running from 500 at the top right down through 200, 120 and 60. The dial is ice blue with a soft satin sheen, fitted with applied faceted steel batons, an applied numeral 12 at the top, white numerals at the sides and the TIMEX MARLIN signature printed in black below twelve. Three black recessed counters break the blue at left, right and bottom, each with fine white graduations, and a framed date aperture sits between four and five o'clock. Slender steel hands with white inserts run over the dial, joined by a central sweep hand. On the right flank a fluted crown sits between two pump pushers. The five row stainless steel bracelet alternates brushed outer links with polished centre links.

Inside works a quartz movement, chosen for its accuracy and for the low profile it allows. The three counters and the central hand handle the timing functions, the aperture at four thirty carries the date, and the printed tachymeter flange converts an elapsed time over one kilometre or one mile into an average speed. The domed acrylic crystal is faithful to the original Marlin recipe: warm, slightly distorting at the edges, easy to polish back to clarity. Water resistance is rated at 5 ATM, enough for rain, hand washing and a swim at the surface.

The Marlin is the vintage heart of the Timex catalogue, a mid century dress watch brought back with its slim proportions, its acrylic glass and its narrow lugs intact. Timex traces its origins to the Waterbury Clock Company of 1854 and became the watch that most Americans wore, a reputation built on honest mechanics and prices that made no fuss.
