Introducing the Timex E Line TW2W70800, a straight descendant of the cushion shaped watches Timex was building in the 1970s. The stainless steel case measures 34 mm across and only 12 mm thick, with a rectangular outline whose corners are softened into a pillow profile. Mirror polished flanks catch the light while a stepped bezel drops in two levels towards the dial, framing it like a small television screen. The white dial is completely matte: applied steel baton indices at every hour, a doubled marker at twelve, a fine printed minute track running around the edge and the TIMEX signature with the word AUTOMATIC just below it. At six o'clock sit the three wave logo and the WATER RESISTANT inscription. The date window is at three, and the polished baton hands are joined by a needle thin sweep seconds hand. A fluted crown sits flush against the case flank, and the bracelet is built from wide brick style steel links alternating brushed and polished surfaces, tapering slightly towards the clasp.

Inside beats an automatic movement wound by the motion of the wrist, so no battery is needed. It drives central hours, minutes and seconds plus the date display at three o'clock. The domed acrylic crystal is the same material Timex used on its vintage models: warm looking, shatter resistant and easy to polish back to clarity. Water resistance is rated at 5 ATM, enough for washing hands, rain and everyday wear.

The E Line revives one of the shapes that made Timex a household name during the seventies, when the brand, born in Waterbury in 1854, was producing more watches than any other maker in the world.
