The square shape is resolved in Italian Mazzucchelli M49 acetate, a material recognised for its density, hand-polished finish and ability to keep colour and geometry after months of heavy use. The hand-polished finish in the Alicante workshop respects the block's pattern without hiding it under coats of lacquer, and the temples are mounted with standard hinges of precise opening.

The lens is the functional heart of this reference. Tiwi mounts a curved base in optical polymer designed for strong Mediterranean light, with mass tinting stabilised so it does not shift after prolonged sun exposure. Filter category 3 is the right one for everyday outdoor use under full sun, and UV400 protection is guaranteed by filtering the full UVA and UVB spectrum. The surface incorporates scratch-resistant coating that protects against daily micro-scratches from the case, a bag or the car dashboard. Lenses built for promenade light, not a studio session.

The signature detail is on the temple. Over the acetate appears the Tiwi signature engraved on the temple, house signature since 2009, accompanied on the inside of the temple by the engraved model name and Alicante origin. Tiwi engraves its name on the original material, without added metal, no rivets, no visible screws, keeping the brand's signature lightweight feel. The front brings just the right contrast to fit a contemporary urban environment without stridency, and the matte finish prevents reflections on screens or car windows. Every Tiwi is assembled and inspected one by one in Alicante before leaving the workshop.

Tiwi was born in Alicante in 2009 as an independent hand-made eyewear project.
