Presenting the Timex Expedition North Men's Watch TW4B33700, a 49 mm digital field instrument with a black case cut like a piece of equipment: four exposed screw heads at the corners, thick guards protecting every pusher and a small red index at twelve. The black bezel carries the function legends printed all the way round the display, INDIGLO and DST / RECALL on the left, START / + and SPLIT / 12H-24H on the right, MODE, NEXT / EXIT, RESET / SET and STOP / - below, with a thin red ring closing the inner edge and 100 M | SOLAR printed in red at six. EXPEDITION appears in olive lettering on the lower case, matching the military green perforated strap that leaves the case through integrated lugs. The negative display shows pale green segments on black: day of the week on the top line, large hours and minutes with running seconds beside them, and the date underneath, plus alarm, solar charge and DST indicators.

Power comes from a solar movement: a cell behind the display turns daylight, and even indoor light, into stored energy, so the watch keeps running without battery changes. The layout gives day, hour, minute, second and date at a single glance, while the legends around the case correspond to the chronograph with split time, the 12 or 24 hour format switch, the alarm shown by the bell icon, the daylight saving adjustment and the INDIGLO backlight that turns the whole screen into a readable panel in the dark. The acrylic crystal absorbs knocks instead of shattering, and 10 ATM of water resistance covers rain, rivers and swimming.

Expedition North is the outdoor line of Timex, a brand born in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1854 and responsible for some of the most used watches of the twentieth century.
