Guess GU7877-74T Sunglasses

We present the Guess GU7877-74T, a sunglass proposal that embodies the essence of American denim translated into eyewear with relaxed West Coast sensuality. The rounded shape is resolved in injected propionate with a glossy finish on the front and gradient temples, a combination that brings presence without resorting to opulence. The 56 mm lens width with 18 mm bridge and 135 mm temple positions the model in size L (large), a balanced proportion that sits without invading the face and respects the oval features it is meant to accompany.

The lens is the functional heart of this reference. Guess has chosen a curved base in polycarbonate with pink/violet colouring. Its category 3 filter (intense sun) is designed for strong outdoor sunlight. The surface incorporates a hard coat treatment, and UV400 protection is guaranteed by filtering the entire UVA and UVB spectrum. It is neither polarised nor mirrored: the code here is subtlety, not effect.

The signature detail is on the temples. Over the material appears the G triangle engraved in gold, symbol of the maison since 1981, accompanied on the inside by the GUESS signature printed in discreet contrast. The bridge carries adjustable nose pads to optimise support on the septum without pressing, and the hinges are standard type with precise opening that maintains geometry after months of use. The glossy finish on the front catches occasional reflections while the gradient temples bring just the right contrast without being invasive.

Guess was born in Los Angeles in 1981 at the hands of the Marciano brothers, four young men who arrived from Marseille with one clear idea: to reinvent American denim. Their first jeans with an ankle zip became a cultural phenomenon before the year was out, and Bruce Weber's black-and-white campaigns installed an aesthetic of their own ever since: relaxed sensuality, California sun, cinematic glamour without affectation. Guess eyewear inherits that DNA: relaxed, photogenic, designed to fit equally on a Venice Beach terrace or a Manhattan rooftop. The G triangle is the silent signature of the maison, a piece of visual identity that has been resisting passing fads for four decades.
