Fossil Minimalist FS5551 Watch

The dial is what you notice first: a warm brown with a sunray finish that opens up towards the centre and darkens almost to black at the rim as the watch turns in the light. Over it sits the crystal that names this line, tinted amber-copper, and it is that tint that gives the whole face its warm cast. The markers are applied bars in rose gold, with Roman numerals at XII and VI in the same tone, and the three hands are rose gold as well; an inner ring carries a minute scale numbered in fives. The case is stainless steel, 44 mm across, finished in gloss black and kept very flat, the profile that The Minimalist is built on. The strap is brown leather, 22 mm wide, sewn with tone-on-tone stitching.

It runs on a Japanese quartz movement, with "JAPAN MOVT" printed on the dial itself. Three hands and nothing more: hours, minutes and a central seconds hand, with no other indication on the dial. The crown is at three o'clock, black and knurled so it is easy to grip, and engraved with the brand's "F" shield.
