Presenting the Casio G-SHOCK Watch GAC-2500-1AER, the octagonal G-SHOCK in total black. The matte resin bezel carries the PROTECTION, MODE, ADJUST, LIGHT and START markings tone on tone. The black dial has a fine grained texture, raised 3D indices, a small seconds subdial at 3 o'clock and a date window at 9 o'clock, while pale luminous hands stand out against the matte black strap.

Inside is Casio module 5757. The case measures 46.7 × 44.5 × 12.7 mm and weighs 47 g. It is made of resin and bio-based resin, with a bio-based resin strap for wrists from 145 to 215 mm. It is shock resistant, water resistant to 20 bar and protected by mineral crystal. A CR1025 battery lasts about 2 years, accuracy is ±15 seconds per month, and an amber LED plus Neobrite light the dial. The hands step every 20 seconds. Functions include a 1-second stopwatch up to 29:59'30'', full auto-calendar to 2099, hand shift and second hand sleep.

G-SHOCK was born in 1983 with the DW-5000C, Kikuo Ibe's answer to a watch that would not break when dropped. The GAC-2500 brings the readability and toughness of that first model to a modern analogue design, keeping the octagonal shape that has become a G-SHOCK signature.
