Presenting the
Casio G-SHOCK GA-2100RGB-1AER, the limited Virtual Rainbow edition of the iconic GA-2100. On a fully matte black resin case, the dial hides a universe of color that only reveals itself up close. The inner dial ring features a deep violet gradient framing the rectangular hour indices, some in cyan blue, others in vivid red, distributed irregularly to create the virtual rainbow effect that names this collection. The main hands are two-toned: the minute hand in bright neon green with a sword-shaped tip, the hour hand in pure white, both with luminescent treatment. On the left subdial, a blue analog hand indicates the day of the week with lime green lettering. The digital display at 6 o'clock shows the time in green on black, the date, and active function indicators in neon red. The overall aesthetic is retrofuturistic, inspired by the video game and gamer culture of the 80s and 90s, without sacrificing a single gram of the structural toughness that defines G-SHOCK.
Inside works the Casio module 5611, a tried-and-tested analog-digital caliber. The left subdial indicates the day of the week, while the main digital display shows the time, seconds, and date. This module offers world time across 48 cities in 31 time zones, a 1/100-second stopwatch capable of measuring up to 23 hours 59 minutes 59.99 seconds, a countdown timer, five independent daily alarms plus an hourly time signal, a automatic calendar valid until the year 2099, DST (daylight saving time) function, and a second time zone. The LED light with a 1.5-second afterglow ensures readability in complete darkness. Water resistance is rated at 200 meters, certified for swimming, snorkeling, and high-pressure water activities.
G-SHOCK was born in 1983 from an impossible challenge: build a watch that could survive a 10-meter free fall onto concrete. Casio engineer Kikuo Ibe spent two years and 200 prototypes achieving it. Since then, G-SHOCK has become the world's toughest watch, adopted by special forces, rescue teams, extreme athletes, and collectors worldwide. The GA-2100 series, nicknamed GA-2100 for its resemblance to a famous luxury Swiss watch, combines Carbon Core Guard construction with an ultra-slim 11.8 mm profile, something that once seemed impossible for a G-SHOCK. The RGB edition takes that heritage further with a bold, limited-production visual statement.
